Product Reviews

Equipped with a powerful 1500-watt stainless-steel concealed heating element, this electric kettle can quickly bring up to 60 ounces of water to a rolling boil. To use, simply fill the kettle at the sink using the water-level indicator to gauge how much, return the kettle to its power base, plug it in, and flip the chrome switch to the "on" position. In a matter of minutes, hot water will be ready to use for anything from tea, instant coffee, and hot cocoa to instant soup or oatmeal. The cordless jug lifts off its power base for graceful serving and can be returned at any angle. In addition, the unit's Strix controller provides boil-dry protection and automatic cut-off if the kettle accidentally gets switched on without water. Beyond its safe and efficient water-boiling capabilities, the kettle makes a distinguished addition to any kitchen decor. It comes beautifully designed with a polished stainless-steel body, a curved chrome handle, and a decorative frosted-glass lid and base. Other highlights include an easy-to-open hinged lid, a water scale with a blue LED indicator light, a removable spout filter, and cord storage to keep counters looking tidy. The cordless water kettle measures 8-1/2 by 5 by 12 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Disappointing...
What we have here is just another made in China item from an unworthy manufacturer.
1) This "stainless steel / glass" kettle does contain small plastic parts on the inside below the water line.
2) While there is a plate on the inside at the bottom over the heating element, the plate seems to be made of an inferior material. It developed spots (looks like rust to me) after the first couple of uses.
3) There is a gap / seam around that plate on the inside at the bottom where water can collect and stay in invisible / inaccessible places.
4) These parts of the kettle are just about impossible to wipe down because of narrow height of the kettle and lid design.
5) Some water will always stay in the kettle no matter how you try to empty it because of lid / spout design.
6) Not made in USA
The kettle retains a 2nd star since it does boil water quickly and does seem solid. The design of the external base is pleasing. The toggle switch on the kettle itself is sexy.
It is, however, by no means "green," healthy or made by a trustworthy manufacturer. The chamber which contains the water is NOT made out of solid, stable non-reactive materials. At this very moment it is probably leaching chemicals including toxins from plastics, nickel, glues, or coatings into the water. I'm looking for a replacement...

beautiful design, poor quality control
I was looking for a kettle with no plastic-water contact. This one is
aesthetically pleasing and uses only a little plastic. Unfortunately, mine
will not boil water because the sensor shuts off as soon as the water even
begins to get warm. Poor quality control! It's going back of course.

The top is glass but contains various plastic parts inside. Also, there
is the ubiquitous plastic water level gizmo, which is really unneeded in
this design, since the top is so easy to open (push the thumb button).
If the manufacturer got rid of the water level thing and a little more
plastic inside, and also got their switches and sensors under control, it
could be a winner. As it is, don't bother.

works fine
I've been using this kettle for a month now and only now read the reviews. I am really surprised by previous reviews. My kettle works just fine, it is easy to clean, the heating element becomes shiny and looks new after just one boiling with lemon juice. Very easy to maintain and it looks great.
I havn't seen any rust or spots that cant be cleaned that I read about in previous reviews.
4 stars- pricey
